Winterfruit Cobbler
Filling: 2 cups California raisins 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries 3/4 cup sugar 2 teaspoons cornstarch 1/2 teaspoon allspice 1 cup orange juice
Topping: 1 cup flour 2 tablespoons sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup cold butter or margarine 1/2 cup milk Cinnamon sugar
For filling: In saucepan combine raisins, cranberries, sugar, cornstarch and allspice. Gradually stir in orange juice. Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer, stirring until cranberries begin to pop and mixture thickens slightly. Pour into shallow 1-1/2 quart baking dish.
For topping: In small bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter to resemble coarse meal. Lightly mix in milk with fork. Drop spoonfuls of batter over filling. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon sugar.
Bake in 400F oven about 25 minutes until golden. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
