Save those 35mm platic film canisters!

Ohio is not known for inexpensive citrus produce. So, when I can find lemons/limes at a decent price,

I squeeze out the juice (remove seeds) and put 2 Tablespoons of either into a plastic film canister and pop them into my freezer. These are hard to label, so I put lemon juice in the clearer canisters and lime juice into the black.

Don't overfill the canisters, because the juice expands in the freezing process.

I also put grated rind of each of the citrus into small plastic sandwich bags for use in cooking/baking.

To defrost, place the canister (with the lid on) into a cup of hot water, it will thaw in minutes.
