Apple Walnut Squares

4 cups apples, peeled & coarsely chopped
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts

TOPPING:
1 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp water

Combine apples and sugar - set aside. In large mixing bowl mix eggs, oil and vanilla, beating for 1 minute. Add combined dry ingredients alternately with apple mixture. Stir in walnuts.

Bake in greased and floured 13x9x2-inch pan at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes, or until done. Do not underbake.

When cake is cooled, drizzle topping on cake.
