CHEDDAR CHEESE BREAD LOAF

2 cups flour
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon butter, melted
6 green onions, finely chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour an 8 1/2 by 4 1/2-inch loaf pan.

In bowl, stir together flour, cheese, baking powder, sugar, oregano, mustard and salt.

Combine milk, egg, and butter. Add to dry ingredients along with onions, stirring until combined. Spread into prepared loaf pan.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool on rack for 10 minutes before turning out of pan.

Serve warm.

Makes 1 loaf
