I’m wondering if the time is right on this, but the seasoning sound good. I would consult a roasting chart first to make sure of time.
Easy Baked Pot Roast From A Book of Favorite Recipes Cookbook
4 1/2 to 5 pounds beef pot roast flour, salt & pepper 2 tablespoons fat 1 cup sour cream 1 envelope dry onion soup mix 1 small can tomato sauce
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Dredge meat with flour seasoned with salt and pepper. Brown slowly on all sides in fat. Combine sour cream with the onion soup mix and tomato sauce. Place meat in baking pan with a tight cover, similar to a Dutch oven or a pan that may be tightly covered with foil. Pour sauce mixture over meat, cover and bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350 degrees F. Remove meat, skim off fat if necessary. Add enough water to remaining drippings to make a gravy consistency. Stir and heat.
