This is a wonderful recipe that we often make.
TROPICAL TRIFLE
1 pkg Butter Pecan Cake mix, plus ingredients to make it 1 pkg (3 oz) French vanilla or coconut cream pudding mix, plus ingredients to make it 1 cup chopped nuts, pecans, walnuts, or macadamia nuts 1 cup coconut, divided 1 large can crushed pineapple, well drained 1 (16 oz) container Cool Whip, thawed
Mix cake and bake according to package directions in any pan you choose.
Cool cake and break into bite sized pieces; set aside
Make pudding and chill to set.
Set aside 2 Tbsp or a good pinch of the nuts for garnish.
In a large bowl layer ingredients in the following order, using at least three layers of each:
cake pieces coconut pineapple nuts pudding Cool Whip
For the final layer, top with the last of the Cool Whip and sprinkle with reserved nuts.
