ELI ZABAR'S RASPBERRY TOWER OF BAGEL
2 freshly baked bagels, lightly toasted 4 oz cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup raspberry jam ripe fresh raspberries
Using a serrated knife, cut each bagel into 4 more or less equal slices.
Smear cream cheese on each slice.
Spread raspberry jam over the cream cheese on all but the top layer.
Press some fruit into the jam, and stack the slices to form the sandwiches.
Serve with good strong coffee or tea. Pass the napkins.
