DROP BISCUITS
2 cups sifted flour 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1/3 cup shortening 1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together into a mixing bowl.
With a pastry blender cut in the shortening until the mixture is the texture of coarse cornmeal.
Stir the dough gently with a fork while adding the milk. Stir only until just blended.
Drop by spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes approximately 16 (2-inch) biscuits
