When we don't get to the bananas fast enough I just throw them with their peels still on into the freezer. When I want a smoothie or shake I take one out, peel it, cut it into chunks and drop them one by one into the blender while it's running with the other ingredients already in it. This is what I came up with today as a mid-morning snack.
NUTTY CHOCOLATE COVERED BANANA SHAKE
1 cup soy milk 1 Tablespoon almond butter Couple squirts of chocolate syrup 2 medium bananas, frozen and cut into chunks
Combine milk, almond butter and chocolate syrup in a blender. While blender is running remove the middle part of the lid and drop the frozen banana chunks in one at a time. Continue blending until banana is incorporated and shake is nice and thick.
