My mother made this bread in the 50's, 60's and 70's as gifts. She left out the raisins that are in some recipes plus she wrapped the bread in a whiskey soaked cotton napkins for days and put that inside a plastic bag. After it soaked up the whiskey for 4 days it was great!!! You can use rum or any good whiskey.
