QUICK AND SIMPLE MEATBALLS
1 1/2 pounds ground beef 3/4 cup QuakerŽ Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) 1/2 cup chopped onion or green pepper 1/2 cup tomato sauce or catsup 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional) 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
Combine all ingredients; mix well. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on rack in shallow baking pan.
Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until meatballs are to medium doneness (160 degrees F).
Serve immediately with Sweet and Sour Glaze, Sherried Mushroom Sauce or your own favorite sauce.
SWEET AND SOUR GLAZE: In small saucepan, combine: 1 cup chili sauce or catsup 1/2 cup grape jelly
Heat through, stirring occasionally. Serve warm with meatballs.
SHERRIED MUSHROOM GLAZE: In small saucepan, combine: 1 can (10-3/4 oz.) cream of mushroom soup 2 tablespoons sherry 2 tablespoons milk (If desired, omit sherry and use 1/4 cup milk.)
Heat through, stirring occasionally. Serve warm with meatballs.
