CABBAGE ROLLS
1 large head cabbage 2 lbs. ground beef 1 large onion, chopped 1 cup instant rice (Minute rice) 1 tbsp. salt (or to taste) 1/4 tsp. garlic salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Toothpicks for securing cabbage rolls 1 large can tomatoes 1 large can tomato juice 1 bay leaf
Soak cabbage leaves in boiling hot water to wilt.
In large bowl, mix together ground beef, onion, rice, salt, garlic salt, and pepper.
Form the meat mixture into balls, roll into cabbage leaves, and hold together with toothpicks. Place in large kettle.
Pour on tomatoes and tomato juice; add bay leaf. Cook over medium heat until cabbage is tender.
