BRAISED FENNEL WITH WHITE WINE AND PARMESAN3 tbsp. butter 2 to 3 fennel bulbs, cut vertically into 1/2 inch slices Salt and pepper to taste 1/3 cup white wine 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated Melt the butter in a large saute pan, add the fennel and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add the wine, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Turn the slices and continue to simmer covered until the fennel is tender and starts to turn golden, about 10 minutes longer.
