MEATBALLS WITH ZIPPY DIP
FOR THE MEATBALLS: 1 lb ground pork 1 lb ground beef 1 medium onion, chopped 1/2 c up butter or margarine, melted 1 cup breadcrumbs 4 eggs, beaten salt and pepper (to taste) cooking oil FOR THE ZIPPY DIP: 1/4 cup horseradish 1 (10-oz) carton sour cream 1 (1 3/8-oz) envelope onion soup mix 1 small onion, finely chopped hot pepper flakes (to taste) garlic powder (to taste) salt and pepper (to taste)
TO PREPARE THE MEATBALLS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine pork, beef, onion, butter, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, and pepper. Shape into 1-inch balls.
In a skillet, cook slowly in hot oil until slightly crusty. Drain well, and place in a baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.
Serve with Zippy Dip.
TO MAKE THE ZIPPY DIP: Combine all ingredients for the Zippy Dip together, blending well.
Makes about 5 dozen meatballs and 2 cups dip
