PORK APPLE BITES

1 lb ground pork
1/2 cup shredded peeled apple
1/4 cup soft rye bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup apple jelly

Combine all but water and jelly; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into 40 balls; brown lightly.

Pour off fat; add water, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Transfer pork balls to serving dish.

Stir apple jelly into cooking liquid and heat until melted. Pour over pork balls and serve.
