When I saw Recipe Swap title for today, I immediately thought of this easy party ham recipe I made early in our marraige. It's picture graced the front of a Family Circle Great Ideas Entertaining at Home magazine in the 70's. The cover proclaimed that the ham sliced itself, (which was not true) tho perhaps it meant it sliced itself at the table! Enjoy!

BUFFET PARTY HAM

1 canned (10 pounds) ham
1 can or bottle (12 ounces) ginger ale
1 jar (12 ounces) orange marmalade
1/2 cup sweet Sherry
Honeydew melon slices, optional
Lime slices, optional
Green grape clusters, optional
Strawberries, optional
Fresh kumquats (optional)

Remove ham from can, cut into thin slices on slicing machine and reshape and tie with string. (Or have butcher do this)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Place tied ham in a shallow roasting pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray; pour ginger ale over and cover ham lightly with heavy-duty aluminum foil.

Bake 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until ham is heated through. Remove foil and spoon off pan drippings.

Heat orange marmalade and Sherry in a small saucepan until bubbly. Brush over ham.

Bake 30 minutes longer, or until well glazed. Transfer ham to a large heated platter with 2 large pancake turners. Cut off string and garnish platter with honeydew melon slices, lime slices, green grape clusters, strawberries and fresh kumquats, or, use any combination of fresh fruits in season to garnish platter.
