BEEF TART-IERES
Tasty little meat pies that can be made ahead and frozen for reheating when company ‘drops in’. 24 frozen ready-to-bake mini tart shells (2 in/5 cm) 1 lb Lean Ground Beef 1/2 cup instant rice 1 egg 1 pouch spicy onion soup/ recipe mix (i.e. Lipton) 1 tbsp crunchy (or smooth) peanut butter 1/2 cup fruity steak sauce, Chinese sweet & sour sauce or seafood cocktail sauce
Separate tart shells and place on large baking sheet. Combine ground beef with rice, egg, onion soup mix and peanut butter. Press about 1 tbsp (15 mL) of meat mixture into each tart shell. Top each tart with about 1 tsp (5 mL) sauce and bake in preheated 375°F (190°C) oven for 30 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
