VELVET SHRIMP
FOR THE SEASONING MIX: 1/2 teaspoon dried basil 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme 1/2 teaspoon salt FOR THE SHRIMP: 1 tablespoon butter or margarine 1/2 cup chopped green onions 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic 1 cup heavy or whipping cream 1/2 cup shredded Muenster cheese Cooked rice or pasta (to serve, optional)
Combine ingredients for the seasoning mix in a small bowl; set aside.
Heat 10-inch skillet over high heat 1 minute. Add butter. Stir in green onions and 2 teaspoons seasoning mix; cook 1 minute.
Add shrimp and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes.
Stir in cream and remaining seasoning mix; cook 1 minute. Remove shrimp with slotted spoon.
Boil cream in same skillet, whisking constantly, 2 minutes.
Stir in cheese, then shrimp.
Serve with hot cooked rice or pasta, if desired.
