SALTED PEANUT CHEWS
BASE: 1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus yellow cake mix 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened 1 egg 3 cups mini marshmallows TOPPING: 2/3 cup corn syrup 1/4 cup butter or margarine 2 tsp. vanilla 12 oz. pkg. (2 cups) peanut butter chips 2 cups crisp rice cereal 2 cups salted peanuts
In large bowl, combine all base ingredients except marshmallows at low speed until crumbly. Press into ungreased 13x9 inch pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-18 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with marshmallows. Return to oven until marshmallows begin to puff (about 1-2 minutes). Cool completely.
In large saucepan, heat corn syrup, margarine, vanilla and chips until mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in cereal and nuts. Immediately spoon warm over marshmallows. Spread to cover. Chill.
Cut into bars. Store covered.
