This would make a great red, white and blue candy if you just used the blue and red M&M candies and saved the other colors for another use, like snaking on while making this patriotic looking treat! This recipe comes from a Betty Crocker Cookbook, Collector's 50th Edition

COLORFUL CHOCOLATE CANDY BARK

1 1/2 pounds vanilla-flavored candy coating (12 squares)
1 cup M&M candies

Separate candy coating into squares, if necessary. Heat candy coating in 3-qt. saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until melted; cool slightly.

Stir in M&Ms. Spread about 1/2-inch thick on waxed paper covered cookie sheet. Press additional M&Ms into candy coating if desired. Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until firm.

Break or cut into pieces with scissors.

GUMDROP BARK VARIATION:
Substitute 1 cup small gumdrop halves for the M&Ms. Press additional gumdrops into candy coating if desired.

Makes about 60 candies
