DEEP-FRIED SHRIMP WITH CATSUP SAUCE
1 pound deep fried shrimp 5 tablespoons onion 2 slices fresh ginger 4 tablespoons catsup 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons sugar 1 tablespoon cornstarch 1/2 cup water 2 tablespoons oil
Deep fry the shrimp in oil for 1 to 2 minutes, drain on papertowels. Mince onion and ginger root.
In a cup, combine catsup, salt and the sugar.
In another cup, blend the cornstarch with the cold water.
Heat oil add onion and ginger; stir fry a few times. Add the shrimp and stir fry briefly to reheat. Add the catsup mixture only to heat through. Then stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken, serve at once.
