DISAPPEARING PUMPKIN SHAKE
"Adapted and tested by Chronicle restaurant writer Dai Huynh. As an alternative to pumpkin juice (which really sounds better than it tastes), quench your thirst with a pumpkin shake."
1 cup half-and-half, almost frozen 1/2 cup whole milk, almost frozen 1/2 cup frozen apple juice concentrate, undiluted 2 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream 1 cup pumpkin puree 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1 teaspoon cinnamon
In a blender, pour half-and-half, milk, juice concentrate, ice cream, pumpkin puree, nutmeg and cinnamon; blend until smooth. For a creamier consistency, add more ice cream. Pour into chilled glasses and serve immediately.
