ANN LIGUORI'S MEAT LOAF
FOR THE MEAT LOAF: 1 1/2 pounds ground beef 1/2 cups dry bread crumbs 1 egg 1 cup milk 1/4 cup chopped onion 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/4 teaspoon rubbed sage 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder FOR THE TOPPING: 1/2 cup brown sugar Enough ketchup to make a paste (about 1/3 cup)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Mix together the meat loaf ingredients. Spread the mixture in an ungreased 8 1/2-by-4 1/2-by-2 1/2-inch loaf pan or a 9-by-5-by-3-inch baking pan.
Combine topping ingredients. Spread over top of meat loaf.
Bake about 1 hour and 15 minutes or until well-glazed.
