STUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS"Cabbage rolls in a sweet-tart sauce."
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 lb. ground pork
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup cooked rice
1 small onion, grated
2 cans (8 oz. each) Hunt’s Tomato Sauce with Mushrooms, divided use
12 large cabbage leaves
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice or vinegar
Combine meat, salt, pepper, rice, onion and one can tomato sauce; set aside.
Blanch cabbage leaves by covering them with boiling water for 3 to 4 minutes; drain.
Place equal portions of meat mixture in center of each cabbage leaf. Fold ends over, roll up and fasten with toothpicks.
Mix remaining can of tomato sauce with brown sugar and lemon juice; pour over rolls.
Simmer, covered, 30 minutes, basting occasionally; uncover and continue cooking 30 minutes.
