- The water amount needs to be lower than that called for on standard package directions to allow for the moisture in the applesauce, and applesauce and water amounts will vary among cake mix flavors.
- Also, you’ll need to use unsweetened applesauce so you aren’t adding more sugar to the cake mix.
- Mix cake mix as directed on the package, using the ingredient amounts listed below For various cake mix flavors.
Butter Recipe Chocolate, Butter Recipe Yellow, Cherry Chip, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Fudge, Devil’s Food, Double Chocolate Swirl, German Chocolate, Golden Vanilla, Party Cake Swirl, Party Rainbow Chip, Spice Or Yellow Cake Mixes:
3/4 cup water
3 eggs
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
Carrot Cake Mix:
1/2 cup water
3 eggs
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
Lemon Cake Mix:
2/3 cup water
3 eggs
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
Milk Chocolate Cake Mix:
3/4 cup water
3 eggs
2/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
Sour Cream White Ckae Mix:
3/4 cup water
3 egg whites
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
