CHINESE PEPPER STEAK
1 1/2 lb. sliced steak or pepper steak 3 Tbsp. soy sauce 1/3 cup salad oil 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 2 green peppers, sliced 1 large onion, sliced 1 cup chopped celery 2 medium fresh tomatoes (or 1 large can tomatoes, drained) 1 Tbsp. cornstarch 1/4 cup water Hot cooked rice (for serving)
Marinate meat in soy sauce, oil and garlic for 40 to 60 minutes.
Brown meat in hot skillet for 5 minutes.
Add green pepper, onion and celery and saute 10 minutes.
Add tomatoes, stir. Simmer until fork tender.
Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup water; add to skillet and cook, while stirring, until thickened.
Serve on rice.
