Using the original recipes, the taste isn't bad, but they just disintigrate into a pile of crumbs. Are you sure this is enough flour. I have added another cup, and am in the midst of baking another pan.....
.....alrighty, much better. Now another 6 in the oven with half of a stuffed olive on top to experiment.
Eureka, success. My revised recipe: same ingredients, except 2 cups all-purpose flour and I also cut back to l/8 tsp. cayenne pepper and scant l/2 tsp. mustard (personal preference). I had some lovely large Italian deli stuffed olives, and cut them in l/3 for the tops - a nice addition. Baked l0 minutes in 350 deg. oven.
These will be served tomorrow, with another appetizer and wine, to the Beach Bunnies Book Club which I will be hosting.
