COUNTRY FARE PEPPER STEAK1 pound steak, cut into finger strips
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Oil
1/2 cup onion, minced
2 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons red wine
1 green pepper, cut into strips
1 cup rice, uncooked (for serving)
Coat the steak with a mixture of the flour, salt, and pepper. Brown the meat in the oil.
Add the onion, cooking until onion is clear.
Add the broth and cover; simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the Worcestershire sauce, wine, and green pepper to the beef mixture; simmer for at least 15 to 20 minutes more.
Meanwhile, cook rice according to package directions.
Serve pepper steak over rice.
