TINY BEEF BURGERS WITH WINE SAUCE
1 pound lean ground beef 1 egg 1/2 cup fine soft bread crumbs 2 tablespoons water 1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG) (optional) 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion FOR THE WINE SAUCE: 1/3 cup red wine 1/2 cup catsup 1 teaspoon prepared mustard 1 tablespoon vinegar FOR SERVING: Toasted bread rounds Grated cheese
Combine beef with lightly beaten egg, crumbs, water, MSG, salt and green onion. Shape into 24 balls. Flatten balls into patties. Place on baking sheet.
Bake in 425 degree F oven 10 minutes.
To make the wine sauce, combine red wine with catsup, mustard and vinegar. Marinate the cooked beef patties in Wine Sauce in refrigerator until serving time.
TO SERVE: Remove beef patties from the sauce and place on toasted bread rounds. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil until bubbly. Serve hot.
