CRUNCHY RICE KRISPIES TOPPING

1 tablespoon regular margarine or butter
1 cup Rice Krispies cereal

Melt margarine in small frypan over low heat. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies cereal, stirring until well coated.

Spoon over top of vegetable or main dish casserole before baking. For use on soups or salads, cook cereal in frypan until crisped and lightly browned. Remove from heat.

Sprinkle over hot soup or crisp green salad just before serving.

VARIATIONS:

Any of the following may be stirred into melted margarine before adding cereal:
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
6 to 8 drops liquid pepper sauce

Any of the following may be tossed with the crisped cereal:
1 teaspoon dill weed
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Makes 1 cup
