HEARTLAND WHOLE WHEAT SPAGHETTI
WITH PROSCIUTTO AND ROASTED PEPPERS


16 oz Heartland Whole Wheat Spaghetti
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 cup diced sweet onion
4 cloves fresh garlic, minced (or 2 tsp. garlic powder)
1 oz fresh basil, chopped (or 1 1/2 tbsp dry basil leaves)
8 oz Proscuitto ham, diced (1 cup)
1 cup roasted red peppers (jarred), diced small
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
salt and cracked black pepper

Cook spaghetti according to package directions, drain and set aside covered.

In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat; add onions and garlic cooking until onions are transparent.

Add basil, ham and red peppers and cook 2 more minutes.

Add spaghetti to skillet and toss together until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

Makes 4-6 servings
