Coney Island Hot Dogs
FOR THE HOT DOG SAUCE: 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 cup water garlic, minced or garlic powder (to taste) 2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce 1/2 to 1 tsp. chili powder Hot dogs FOR SERVING: hot dog buns yellow mustard 1/2 cup chopped fresh onion salt and pepper (to taste)
Brown beef slowly, breaking up while stirring. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer uncovered 20-30 minutes.
Cook hot dogs.
TO SERVE: Put hot dogs in buns, then yellow mustard, then sauce, then chopped onions, then salt and pepper on top.
