HOT AND SPICY ALMONDS

1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp ground cayenne powder
3 cups whole natural almonds
1/2 cup coarse salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Melt the butter in a medium-size saucepan. Add Worcestershire sauce, cumin, garlic powder, sugar and cayenne pepper. Cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes.

Add the nuts and stir to coat evenly with seasonings. Spread the nuts on an ungreased baking sheet.

Place in the oven and toast for 15 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from the oven and toss with coarse salt. Cool.

Makes 4 servings
