PIGGLY WIGGLY TACO DIP

1/4 lb. lean ground beef
1 pkt. dry onion soup mix
2 cups sour cream
1 (8 oz. pkg.) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided use
FOR SERVING:
1 lb. lettuce, shredded
3 cups chopped tomatoes
1 lb. tortilla chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Heat a heavy nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Saute ground beef 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently to break up meat, until browned. Discard excess liquid.

Combine onion soup mix, sour cream and softened cream cheese in an ovenproof dish. Stir in ground beef and 1/2 cup cheese. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.

Bake 30 minutes or until heated through.

TO SERVE:
Top with lettuce and tomato and serve with tortilla chips.

Makes 12 servings
