FRUIT CRUSTED POPCORN

"This has been a favorite at our house, and it disappears quickly. You can use any flavor of Jello. It works great for holidays, like orange for Halloween, or red and green for Christmas - especially if you have to make treats for the kids to take to school parties!"

8 cups popped popcorn
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup light corn syrup
2 tbsp. Jello powder (any flavor)
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Bring butter, sugar and syrup to boil. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add jello, baking soda and vanilla. Stir until mixed.

Put popcorn in ungreased 9x13 baking pan, and pour mixture over popcorn. Stir to coat.

Bake at 250 degrees F for 15 minutes. Stir and bake 15 minutes more.

Recipe may be doubled and put into two 13x9-inch pans.
