ZESTY GREEN BEANS
5 cups water 1 pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed 1/4 teaspoon salt 4 slices bacon, cut into pieces 2 large cloves garlic, minced Juice of 1 lemon 1 tablespoon sugar 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
In medium saucepan, bring 5 cups water to a boil over high heat. Add green beans and salt. Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 6 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain beans and set aside.
In same saucepan, cook bacon over medium-high heat until crisp. Remove bacon from saucepan; drain on paper towels.
Add garlic to bacon drippings; cook about 1 minute. Stir in remaining ingredients. Add beans and toss to coat; cook for 2 to 3 minutes to heat through. Garnish with bacon.
