I grew up on this and its wonderful !! We called it 'ham and sop-bread'. My mom only added salt, pepper and milk (no flour) to the ham drippings and warmed it thru with the ham flavoring stuck in the skillet. That was poured over slices of bread. Sounds terrible unless you've tasted it, but oohhh sooo goood.
