Greetings Cathy! Outing lunches are among my favorites. We often take road trips and I cannot tolerate road food so the box lunch is always the way I go.
You say that you found sandwiches boring and I understand this but I have found that they don't have to be boring considering the huge choice of breads one can use. Salmon salad wraps, for instance, sound good to me. Along with marinated vegetables in finger food style, a fresh pear or
apple and an Aleut sized cookie would make me happy. Other offerings might include breadsticks & cheese with fruit, marinated fish with some crusty bread, cold pasta salad with fresh mussels, crabmeat wrapped in phyllo, pound cake, tea breads.Whatever the fare,I would want a thermos of hot tea all my own with milk and sugar to go with. Is this too much to ask? Good luck!
Barbara
