This recipe calls for a crust made from 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 c. rolled oats, 1/2 c. brown sugar and 1 c. flour. I made it that way with perfect results. I then tried to make it substituting the butter with 1/2 cup of applesauce. It didn't work. The mixture should be crumbly but when made with the applesauce, it had the consistencey of cake mix. Any suggestions?
