There are other ways of gaining protein and iron as well. Dark leafy greens such as spinach, nuts, tempeh, seitian, miso, or other soy derivative products. New studies show that food combining is unnecessary. By eating a well balanced varied diet, you can obtain complete proteins, and essential nutrients over several days, and your body will combine them itself.

Read your labels. Most food contains some protein, Wheat Bread for instance can have up to 2 g of protein. The body does not need a large amount of proten. It is also a good idea when just starting out, to take a mulit vitamin. It is helpful, but no necessary. Take a stroll through your natual foods store, try some new products, such as Mochi. This also is a good source of protein.
