Morning there Seppo,
Hope you had a great weekend away. How,s the weather now still cold. The recie
I,m posting for you today is one of my favourite comfort foods,I normally serve
it as a side dish for a casserole but I,m quite happy to have a plate of this
and nothing else!!!!!!see what you think.........
ROOT VEGTABLE PUREE WITH WALNUTS
**********************************
3 medium potatoes,peeled
4 large carrots scrubbed
3 medium turnips or parsnips,peeled
2 Tbls butter, melted in 4 Tbls hot milk
2 cloves garlic crushed
1 egg beaten
1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
salt and ground pepper to taste
1/2 cup walnuts chopped

Boil or steam veggies seperately til cooked(some times turnips take a bit
longer to cook so this prevents the pot from becoming slush if you boil them
all together, drain and mash them all together, mixing in the hot milk mixture
the beaten egg, nutmeg and garlic.Place the mash in a greased baking dish and
press the walnuts into the surface and bake at 180c(350f) for about 20 mins.
this will make 4 generous servings so multiply as nescessary.
Hope you like it
Love Julie
