Hi Darlene,
I don't have a recipe, I have more of a method. My mom is from down south (Alabama) and she and I have been making these my whole life.

We get green tomatoes that are heading toward the pink stage (but not yet pink) and slice them thin about 1/4 inch. We season them with salt and pepper and then coat them with flour (my mom likes coating them with cornmeal) and cook them in about a half inch of hot oil until they are golden brown. We then immediately drain them on paper towels and serve hot. Enjoy.
