I cut these out of the newspaper several years ago. I have given them as gifts as well as used them on camping trips myself. I save interesting jars to put the mix in and use a decorative label to adhere the directions right to the container. Enjoy, Julie.
1.)Hot Mocha Mix Yield: 6.5 C 1 c unsweetened cocoa (such as Hersheys) 2 c ea.: sugar, nonfat dry milk, & dry non-dairy coffee creamer 1.5 c instant coffee (try a flavored one) 1 vanilla bean, cut into 4 pieces Combine everything in a large bowl. Pack into jars making sure to place one of the pieces of vanilla bean in each jar. Store in fridge for a week to mellow. Use 3 level Tablespoons per 6 oz. of boiling water.
2.)Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix Yield: 3.75 C or 15/16 servings 2 c nonfat dry milk powder 3/4 c sugar 1/2 c ea.: unsweetened cocoa (such as Hersheys) & powdered non-dairy creamer dash of salt Combine everything in a large bowl. Combine 1/4 c mix with 3/4 c boiling water per 6 oz. of boiling water.
3.)Spiced Mocha Mix Yield: 2.5 C or 12/14 servings 1 c ea.: sugar & non fat milk powder 1/2 c ea.; non-dairy creamer & unsweetened cocoa (such as Hersheys) 3 T powdered instant coffee 1/2 t ground allspice 1/4 t ground cinnamon dash of salt Combine everything in a large bowl. Combine 3 Tablespoons mix with 3/4 c boiling water per 6 oz. of boiling water. Garnish with mini-marshmallows and a cinnamon stick.
