Hi Colette! Here are a few recipes that look tasty but I have not tried yet.

Home-Style Short Ribs

3 - 4 lbs. lean beef short ribs
4 potatoes, peeled & quartered
4 carrots, " "
1 onion, sliced
2 tbs. vinegar
2 tsp. sugar
1 tbs. horseradish
1 tbs. prepared mustard
2 tbs. catsup
1 cup beef bouillon
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup flour

In large skillet or slow cooker with browning unit, brown ribs; drain off excess fat. Place potatoes, carrots & onion in slow cooker. Arange browned ribs over vegetables. Combine vinegar, sugar, horseradish, mustard, catsup, bouillon, salt & pepper. Pour over meat. cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender. Remove ribs and vegetables. Turn control to high. Dissolve flour in small amount of water. Stir into sauce; cook on high for 10 to 15 minutes or until thickened. Serve with meat & veggies.
Serves 4 to 6German Short Ribs

3 - 31/2 lbs. beef short ribs
2 tbs. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 tbs. shortening
2 med. onions, sliced
1/2 cup dry red wine
1/2 cup chile sauce
3 tbs. brown sugar
3 tbs. vinegar
1 tbs. Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. chile powder
2 tbs. flour

Coat ribs in misture of 2 tbs. flour with salt and pepper. Melt shortening in large skillet or slow cooker with browning unit; add ribs and brown on all sides. Pour off excess fat. In slow cooker, combine ribs, onions, wine, chile sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard & chile powder. Cover & cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until tender. Turn control to high. Thicken with 2 tbs. flour that has been dissolved in small amount of water. Cook on high about 10 minutes or until slightly thickened. Serve over wide noodles. Makes 5 to 6 servings. Mexican Style Short Ribs

3 to 4 lbs. beef short ribs
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef consumme
1 (1 1/4 oz) pkg. Taco Seasoning Mix
1/4 cup shopped green pepper

In large skillet brown short ribs; pour off excess fat. Mix consumme with dry taco mix; add green pepper. In slow cooker, pour sauce over ribs. Cover & cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
