Would Swedish Kringla be the same? Kringla 1 stick butter 1cup sugar 1egg 1 cup buttermilk 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 3 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Beat togeter butter, sugar and egg. Add buttermilk, soda, baking powder, flour, salt and vanilla. Chill well. Take out handful of batter and lightly roll in a little flour; use table knife and cut off about a tablespoon of dough and roll the length of a pencil; then turn into a figure 8. Place on cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. yields about 1 dozen. These should not get brown; just until they aren't moist anymore. Take off sheet and place on a dish towel and cover with another towel, so they will stay soft.
