God Bless!
Ingredients:
Bread slices
Batter:
4 egg yolks
2 whole eggs
1 cup half & half
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 cup Bailey's Irish Cream
1/8 cup sugar
Filling:
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup almonds, chopped
1 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1/8 cup Frangelico Liquer
1/8 cup Amaretto Liqueur
1 orange, juice only
Instructions:
Mix together batter ingredients.
In saute pan, melt butter & gradually add nuts. Saute until moist. Add brown sugar, cinnamon & salt and sugar until sugar is disolved. Add liqueuras, using caution if it's over a gas flame. Reduce the sauce until thickened, about 2 minutes. Finally, squeeze the juice of one orange. Allow mixture to cool slightly.
Stuff thick slices of bread with about a tablespoon of the mixture; fold in a triangle and dip in the batter. Grill over medium heat until brown; cut in half and dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Syrup is not necessary.
