do I detect a little note of desperation? :-)

Some ideas:

In the steak department: rib eyes (I'd stay away from t-bones, less to deal with at the table) with a peppercorn sauce, blue lake green beans that have been blanched briefly, then re-warmed in a skillet with some toasted walnuts and some thyme, and perhaps a simple baked potato with some chives.

Also in the steak deparment, shish kabobs are always great. I skewer my steak with alternate pieces of red bell pepper. then, on another skewer, I use zucchini, red and yellow bell peppers, red onion, mushrooms. Yum.

Personally, steak is always a treat so I'd go for that. BTW some couscous with the kabobs are great.
