Linenea's recipe for Great Granola From: The Enlightened Eater Makes 12 cups
5 cups rolled oats 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut 1 cup chopped nuts 1/2 cup natural bran 1 cup oat bran 1/2 cup wheat germ 3/4 cup sunflower seeds 1/2 cup honey 1/4 cup corn or safflower oil 2 tsp. vanilla 1 cup raisins
dried fruit, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, or whatever else you like
* Combine the first seven ingredients in a large bowl. Heat the honey, oil, and vanilla in a small saucepan over low heat until blended. Pour this mixture over the dry ingredients, stirring to coat well.
* Spread the mixture in a thin layer on one or two large cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes, stirring at intervals until lightly browned. Cool completely, mix in raisins and other assorted goodies, and store in an airtight container in the fridge. |
