My previous welcome was just like yours -- no one could be bothered. In fact, I even asked my husband if per chance I discovered the secret to invisibility cus neighbors would walk RIGHT by and not say "hi" in reply!!!!

I think its wonderful that their lack of manners didnt dissuade you from welcoming your new neighbors! It sure makes a difference to feel welcomed!
