I'm so glad that y'all have planted some of those wonderful peas, Joy! I'm sure that you and your family will enjoy them.
After shelling the peas, wash several times to remove all grit, etc. Put the peas in a large pot with about 1-2 T. of vegetable oil, or bacon grease, 1 tsp. sugar, seasoned salt, and cover the peas with water. Bring them to a hard boil and then let them simmer for several minutes until peas are tender.
